ISO 177-1988 Determination of infiltration of plastic Plasticizers

This standard specifies a method for determining the tendency of a plasticizer to seep from the former to other plastics or materials when a plastic containing a plasticizer is in close contact with the latter. It is generally used to evaluate the tendency of plastics to lose their liquid components. It is also suitable for studying the infiltration tendency of different concentrations of plasticizers in resins. The details are described below.
1 General scope
This standard specifies a method for determining the tendency of a plasticizer to seep from the former to other plastics or materials when a plastic containing a plasticizer is in close contact with the latter. It is generally used to evaluate the tendency of plastics to lose their liquid components. It is also suitable for studying the infiltration tendency of different concentrations of plasticizers in resins.

2 Principle
A sample is cut from the finished product under test (sheet to sheet), placed in a mesh sheet made of a material capable of absorbing the plasticizer and closely connected to n, and then heated under specified conditions. The mass loss of the sample is the measure of the additive parameter shift, and in theory, the mass increase of the sub-sheet is equal to the amount.

3 Instruments
3.1 Analytical balance, measurement meter and machine knot commonly used in the living room.

3.2 Glass plate. The surface is flat and large enough to cover the absorbent material negative.

3.3 Weight, 5kg mass.

3.4 Absorbent film with a diameter of (60 µl)mm and a thickness of at least 0.5mm and affinity to plasticizer.

4 Sample
The specimen shall be a piece with a diameter of (50士1)mm and a thickness of at least 0.5nn, cut from a sheet of appropriate thickness made by compression molding or injection group. The surface of the specimen should be very smooth to ensure that it is continuously connected with the absorbing film.

For sub-films, multiple layers should be pressed at the appropriate temperature to make a sample thickness of not less than 0.5mm.

When measuring the finished product, the test should be carried out in a place of uniform thickness.

If the product under test is single-sided coated on the substrate material or calendered to fit the plasticizing resin, the substrate of the cut two pieces of painting shall be coated with the A-side connected to each other and overlapped into a sample.

5 Steps
5.1 Weigh the sample and the absorbing film, respectively, and determine the average thickness.

5.2 The sample is placed between two absorbing negatives so that their axes coincide and assembled into a central structure. And then put it in two pieces of glass.

In order to make the pressure distribution even, a piece of rubber should be inserted between the absorbing film and the glass plate, and the absorbing film with foil aluminum will be separated from the line film.

5.3 Put a 5kg weight on the above test assembly. Put the test assembly together with the production code and keep it in the change box at (70 s2)℃.

Allow several components to overlap, but up to 5, each separated by glass plate, to form a national cylinder, and only a 5kg broken code. At this point, the temperature should be measured directly from the overlapping body.

When the actual service temperature of the material needs to be considered, the test should be carried out at the temperature recommended by the relevant standard. If there are no regulations and you want to test at a temperature lower than 70 ° C or higher, you can use 50 ° C or 85 ° C, respectively.

5.4 After 24h, the test assembly is removed from the general box, and the sample and absorbing film are separated. And then weigh them separately.

5.4 In order to determine the progressive structure of the permeability at the same time, measurements are recommended after 1,2,3,10,15 and 30 days. Three samples should be used for each test.

6 Result Representation
The arithmetic mean of the quality change of the three specimens and three pairs of absorbed negatives were calculated separately.

If the difference between the maximum value of a single test result of three specimens or three pairs of negatives and the arithmetic mean of the respective test results is more than ±10% of the mean, the test is re-run with a new specimen.

The plasticizer infiltration of the tested product is sequentially represented by the above two averages.

Standard resume and bid acquisition situation
This standard was formulated by ISO/TC61/SC 6 in 1976. The first revision was carried out in 1988, which was the second edition, cancelled and replaced the first edition (ISO l77:1976), and its technical content was consistent with ISO177:l976.

There is no corresponding standard in our country.
