The gloss of the paint film refers to the performance of the surface to reflect light in a specific direction under the irradiation of light. 1. Preparation before the test:
The photoelectric gloss meter should be charged in advance and charged once every six months to ensure the stable performance of the instrument.

Check whether the surface of the working standard board is clean. If there are stains, use cleaning solution to gently wipe.

Clean the surface of the sample under test to avoid contamination of the standard plate.

2. Preparation for commissioning of photoelectric gloss meter:
Turn on the power switch and select the desired measurement system.

Preheat the instrument for 5 minutes.

Adjust the “Set to 0” knob so that the display indicates a negative value and calibrate on a high gloss standard board.

Ensure that the reading of the “0” point and the high gloss standard board is stable and needs to be readjust if there is any change.

3. Measurement:
Place the probe on the template to be measured and record the reading, noting that the measurement should be carried out in the direction of the incident and reflection of the light.

The gloss value was measured in the three regions of the sample respectively and the average value was taken. After each sample measurement, it is necessary to proofread it with a standard board.

The gloss measurement of the paint film is one of the important means to ensure the appearance quality of the coating. Through regular gloss measurement, the state of the paint film can be monitored and possible problems can be identified in time, so that measures can be taken to maintain the appearance and performance of the coating.
