Instruments and determination methods

The cone-plate viscometer is composed of a constant temperature heating plate, a rotating cone, a torque motor, a torque converter and a reading display system. In the measurement, the sample of about 0.1 grams is first accurately weighed and placed between a clean and clean plate and cone. Then choose the appropriate temperature, such as 150°C or 175°C, and heat the constant temperature. After the sample is melted and stabilized to the set temperature, the rotating cone is activated and the reading with the viscosity indicator constant is recorded. Two parallel tests were performed for each measurement, averaging and reporting the results.

In addition, standards such as ISO 28841-1 and DIN 53214 provide guidance on viscosity determination.
