O prefață
ISO (Organizația Internațională pentru Standardizare) este o alianță globală a organismelor naționale de standardizare (organismele membre ISO). Elaborarea standardelor internaționale se realizează de obicei prin intermediul comitetelor tehnice ISO. Fiecare instituție membră interesată de un subiect pe care a fost înființat un comitet tehnic are dreptul de a fi reprezentată în comitet. În această activitate sunt implicate și organizații internaționale guvernamentale și neguvernamentale care colaborează cu organizațiile de standardizare. ISO lucrează îndeaproape cu Comisia Electrotehnică Internațională (IEC) în toate problemele de standardizare electrică.

The fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition of the technical revision (ISO 16053:2018).

ISO 16053-2022 “Natural Aging test of coatings and paint systems for Outdoor Wood Products with colors and varnishes”

Principalele modificări sunt următoarele:

– Updated regulations on the use of alternative timber species;

— Internal comparison product (ICP) has been replaced by the nominated reference material as weathering reference material (WRM);

– Mold growth assessment has been extended to visual disfiguement of microorganisms;

– Delete the original annex A;

– A new annex G on typical characteristics of common timber species has been added;

– Added a new appendix H for tape testing;

– New annex I on thermal/chemical modification of wood has been added;

1 Domeniul de aplicare
This document provides for natural weathering testing of exterior wood coating systems primarily used for the decoration and protection of planed and sawn timber.

This test provides a way to evaluate the performance of a wood coating system during outdoor exposure. It forms the basis for the performance specification in compliance with EN 927-2. It also facilitates the comparison of coating system performance on different substrates, including wood species or other wood modifications.
