This international standard is part of ISO 3856, Vopsele și lacuri – Determinarea de “solubil” continutul de metal.

1 Scope and domain of application
Această parte a ISO 3856 describes a flame atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) method for the determination of total chromium content in liquid parts of paints, prepared in accordance with sub-clause 9.3 of ISO 6713 or other appropriate international standards.

This method is suitable for coatings with total chromium content in the liquid portion in the range of approximately 0.05% la 5% (m/m).

Other methods may be used by agreement between interested parties, but this AAS method is the method of adjudication in the case of dispute.
