For compounds other than those evaluated, the analyst should determine the sensitivity and reproducibility of the method by conducting appropriate labeling and recovery studies. 1.4 In order to verify identity or identify unknown volatile compounds, analysts are encouraged to use techniques such as gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, gas chromatography/infrared spectroscopy or other techniques combined with this test method.
