ИСО (Међународна организација за стандардизацију) је глобални савез националних тела за стандардизацију (Тела чланица ИСО). The committee responsible for this document is ISO/TC 35, Боје и лакови, Subcommittee SC 9, Common Test Methods for Paints and Varnishes.

The third edition cancelled and replaced the second edition (ИСО 2811-1:2011), which was technically revised with the following changes:

а) The accuracy information of the analytical balance (6.2) and thermometer (6.3) has been changed;

б) Add the requirement that the sample is bubble-free;

ц) The spelling of the gravity bottle has been corrected.

Овај део ИСО-а 2811 specifies methods for determining the density of paints, varnishes and related products using metal or Gay-Lussac gravity bottles.

This method is limited to materials with low or medium viscosity at test temperatures. Hubbard gravity bottles (see ISO 3507) can be used for high viscosity materials.
