ASTM D772-2018 Standard Test Method for Evaluating the Degree of Peeling of Exterior Wall Coatings

Meaning and Use

4.1 The film peeling fault will occur during use. The test method provides a way to assess the degree of failure by comparing it with graphical standards.

1.2 Values expressed in SI units shall be considered standard. The values given in parentheses are for reference only.

1.3 This test method is similar to, but not identical to, ISO 4628 Part 5. Iso 4628 Part 5 uses a rating scale from 0 to 5, where level 0 is unchanged and level 5 is the most stringent. The two criteria use different picture reference photographs to determine the rank values.

1.4 This standard is not intended to address all safety issues related to use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health and environmental specifications and to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions prior to use.
