Meaning and use

5.1 This test method is intended for use in the formulation of specifications, as an internal quality control tool, and in the development or research of industrial aromatics and related materials. This test method gives an indication of residual acidity and is a measure of the quality of the finished product. This indicates a tendency for products to corrode equipment.

Step 1: Scope

1.1 This test method is used to detect the acidity of benzene, toluene, xylene, solvent naphtha and similar industrial aromatics.

1.2 Values expressed in SI units shall be regarded as standard values. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
