4.3 Leaching of water-soluble materials may depend on the colorant dispersion mixed into the tonal base coating. Other coating components may also affect the leaching of water-soluble materials.

1.1 This practice includes the ability of the latex paint film to resist contamination due to leaching of water-soluble substances when it comes into contact with water shortly after application.

1.2 Water pollution is attributable to leaching of surfactants or other water-soluble materials from the paint film.
