This international standard eliminates and replaces ISO Recommendation R 787/1-1968, which constitutes a technical revision.
The purpose of this standard is to establish a common set of test methods for pigments and fillers that are applicable to all or many individual pigments and fillers for which specifications may be required. 1 Scope and field of application

A special method of color comparison should be specified only if the procedure given in this general method is not applicable to a particular material.
