5.1 This test method is applicable to the specification of the material referenced in 1.1. It can also be used as an internal quality control tool and for development or research work.

5.2 The color produced in the acid layer indicates that impurities would cause discoloration of the material if sulfonated.

Step 1: Scope

1.1 The test method includes the determination of benzene, toluene, xylene, refined solvent naphtha and similar industrial aromatics for pickling color.

1.2 Values expressed in SI units shall be regarded as standard values. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.

1.3 This standard is not intended to address all safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
