Significato e scopo
4.1 The test method measures the degree to which the sharp corners are covered by different coating powder materials. Corner coverage is affected by surface thickness, thixotropy, melt viscosity, tensione superficiale, curing rate, and application and curing temperature.

Ambito di applicazione
1.1 The test method consists of determining the ratio of angular thickness (Vedere 3.1.3) to face thickness (Vedere 3.1.4) of a powder coating applied to a specific face thickness by immersing a preheated square rod in an aerated powder and curing the coating with predetermined conditions.

Nota 1: The property of corner coverage is also known as “edge coverage”, but the latter is not recommended. There are widespread misconceptions and expectations about the term “edge coverage”. The test was performed on rebar with square angles and the results are not necessarily associated with sharper edges, namely burrs. Coatings with measurable corner coverage may still not protect sharper edges from corrosion or provide the electrical insulation required for some applications.
