1.1 This practice includes assessing the extent to which the latex paint resists formation weathering and alkali burn-out on exposed paint surfaces.

1.2 The main purpose of this practice is to relate weathering originating from the substrate to the presence of deposits on the surface of the latex paint. This practice mainly involves the coating of masonry type substrates, such as concrete blocks, bricks, mortar, stucco, poured concrete and similar materials.
